Icon Illlustrations
for Positive Outlooks
For the website relaunch of WEIL Graz e.V.—a registered association in Graz, Austria—I have drawn clear illustrations. Complementing the website copy, they visualize information, references and integrate well into the brand’s visual appearance.
The association “Weiter im Leben” (WEIL) offers consultation for suicidal children and teenagers as well as their relatives, friends, or teachers. The team of psychosocially trained workers also conducts educational workshops. With their free support, they are a great resource for people to be heard and to find a way out of the crisis.
The top goal for the new website was to show their services in a clear and positive way so they could be found easily.
Services provided:

Telephone Support
This icon accompanies the tip to talk to someone about your problems. That’s where the websites provides a list of helpline numbers for support.
Places to Go
Another page presents organizations that offer help, too, listed according to their region and topical focus.
Emergency Call
In case of an emergency, visitors of the website are advised to immediately call the police and rescue forces.
Medical Help
Another possibility for help is to consult a doctor. Sometimes, a medical treatment is necessary, e.g. with medication and therapy.
Donations
The association welcomes financial support which enable them to continue with their work.
Blending in with the Logo
The icon illustrations are based on the association's logo and pick up on its rounded shapes. The sun's rays attract attention in some of the illustrated themes, while in others, they have a positive and cheerful effect. All in all, the illustrations reinforce the sympathetic character of the website.
An icon is a good way to complement textual description as it "marks" paragraphs and evokes desired associations. And it can be used well with other media such as leaflets or on social media channels.
