Flow of Meditation
The Task
[free project] A local community center wants to promote a workshop on meditation. In the session, an experienced teacher guides a group of up to ten people. The target audience: between 30-40 years old, all genders, middle to upper class, living in a city. The offer is communicated with posters hung up in the local urban area and public places, accompanied by Social Media posts.
The Challenge
Communicating the trending topic of meditation - and to do so in a way that is taken seriously and different from existing meditation apps and groups. The message and visual presentation should be simple and appealing and create interest.
The Goal
Passers-by who are generally interested are able to quickly absorb the information. They are directed to the homepage where they can sign up. The Social Media posts stand out in busy feeds, inviting people to read the description and click on the website link. The design reflects the nature of the content—ideally, associations to the keywords focus, directed attention, intuition, flow, and calm come up.
The Process
The first step was to get a clear picture of the task: what’s the content of the workshop? Who is the target group? What is the campaign’s goal? Brainstorming and research followed. I jotted down various associations with meditation, its goals, different techniques, and typical lifestyles. A competitor analysis was also part of the process. Some initial sketches played with different ways to represent the keywords flow, focus, harmony, and inner development. I chose the route that showed the strongest potential to attract attention and communicate calmness at the same time.
The Solution
The design is clear and easy to take in—both ideal for the fast-paced environment in which the poster would be seen and for appealing to a target audience looking for calm in their busy days. The illustration refers to the feeling many people experience when they meditate and expand their horizon.

This is how two images could be used in a social network. Facebook was chosen as the most appropriate online platform for advertizing the workshop to a local target audience in Munich.
